We’ve been as busy as ever having lots of fun and learning new skills and this week we had a visit from Miss Eaglen, the reception class teacher at Barcombe School.

As many parents already know we have strong links with our village school and our children benefit from these links by enjoying a smooth transition to school when their time comes.

Miss Eaglen visits us every term and during the summer term she visits here regularly to spend time with the school leavers. They also visit her at the school and spend several mornings in the reception classroom. This really helps them to feel comfortable with what will become their new surroundings in the Autumn term.

By getting to know Miss Eaglen and her teaching assistant Miss Jones the children feel relaxed and familiar with their surroundings from their very first day at school.

Most of our children go on to Barcombe School and last year we had twelve leavers, all of whom went on to school together. We were pleased to hear from Miss Eaglen how quickly they all settled in and how well they are all doing, especially with their reading and writing.
